A lot of people are now claiming that leaving your children asleep in
your nearby holiday home, while staying in what you perceive as a
safe, family-friendly area, and just checking on them every half-hour,
as millions of families having been doing on millions of holidays
since the dinosaurs were pups, now makes them one step away from child
abusers who deserve all the approbrium that can be thrown at them, and
having their child taken probably Serves Them Right.

Not that I disagree, or anything. :o/
