Whilst Caroline Lawrence's blog says this:
Series cancelled: I received this notice from the producer of the TV
series: "The BBC has made the decision to postpone the next episode of
Roman Mysteries and therefore the Series. This is a ... decision based

Madeleine McCann in Portugal. Our next episode covers the kidnapping
of young children and might be perceived as insensitive to proceed
whilst this story is front page news."
I think this is silly. What does anyone else think?
I agree. I also think that, sadly, if the family had been poor/ugly/poorly
educated/inarticulate/on benefits/fat/ethnic minority etc the BBC would not
have felt so sympathetic Nor would any of the media and the news reports.....
Are these reports of inflatable posters and meeting the pope really
true? I can say this in safety from a distance and in the company of
umra but I find this sort of mass-hysteria really scarey because it
feels unsafe to hold a contrary opinion.
would have dwelt more on how the other 2 children should now be taken away
from them.
Eh? Wot? Something I´ve been missing?
