Has anyone tried it? And have you ever done it abroad?

I'm going to Leftpondia in May/June and want to take my laptop to keep
in touch with things. The BT Openzone page is extremely confusing. I
know I can buy vouchers for use in this country, but it's all
different in forn parts.

I've used WiFi in a variety of countries but not the US. In European/Middle
Eastern hotels it seems to vary between free and £20 per day. Technically
it's never been a problem except when I forgot to turn my firewall on and
got some kind of Virus/Trojan. AVG sorted it out and Windows firewall
stopped it recurring.

Thanks. I keep AVG and ZoneAlarm running all the time, so they should
keep the nasties out.

Quite a few USian hotels seem to offer free wifi, but not all the ones I'm
hoping to stay in. I suppose I'll just have to go to Starbucks a lot.
