So how come no-one has mentioned to Ian that the CSA will be on his case
for the next 18-19 years?
Ian seems to envisage life as a fully hands-on, permanent father, and
presumably this involves financial support (although we haven't ever heard
this being discussed, which seems a bit of an oversight). What is more
uncertain is Adam's role as a Deputy Dad - the CSA won't have any claim on
him, but there seems to be an unspoken assumption that he, too, will have
some ongoing commitment to this child.
Actually it would be just as likely, on present form, for Madds to be the
one to abandon the child and be chased up by the CSA.
Madds is desparate to procreate, however...
Her job is so important that she couldn't even be bothered to stick
around long enough for the conception.
I doubt if the later feeding, caring & mucking out of the offspring will
hold her back - especially when Ian is 'such a wonderful Dad' & will be
delighted to be left holding the baby.
Poor Adam*.
