I do appreciate my good fortune, not that I'm wildly thrilled by Postman Pat at any hour of the day but it does mean I can wake up gradually without having to do full-on child entertainment. Many of my friends have televisions in the bedroom so they can have their children watching early morning telly without them having to wake up at all or get out of bed but I haven't sunk to such decadence.
You young folk don't know you're born! When my kids were waking up at
an ungodly hour of the morning there weren't no TV except Open
University and no video recordings either.
Thank God for radio but it don't keep the kids amused in the same way.
Still, it did get me a second degree.
