I can't think of a single thing I learned in six years of games at
school, except to think of myself as useless at games. A complete
waste of time.

YANAOU. I managed to get out of it by fifth year because I took O-level
Spanish as an extra, which has proved far more useful.

What I would have enjoyed more was yoga, which I have tried and enjoyed. But
games (hockey and netball) were just humiliating and boring.

I managed to arrange extra maths coaching during one games period in
the upper sixth. I'd already failed Maths GCSE 3 times and needed it
to go to uni and my form master was a maths teacher and kindly gave up
time to help me.
