You gotta be careful, this printer replaced a previous model, the ip4000,
but the two have different ink cartridge designs, so the generic cartridges
for the ip4000 do not fit in this model, the ip4200.

I got told that by "choices stationary" where i buy the (generic) cartridges
for my other printer, of course being a cynical type, and wondering if they
were just telling me that because they didn't sell them and they didn't want
me going elsewhere, i checked with Canon. Give them some story about
replacing a damaged ip4000 with a ip4200, and that i had a set of unused
cartridges for my ip4000, and would they fit in the ip4200. They sent me
back an e-mail telling me they wouldn't fit, and why...Load of technical
mumbo-jumbo.

Apparently, "Choices" again, the printer is fairly new, and given time
generics will appear.......They had better hurry up, cos i'm gonna be
running out of ink in the next month or so, and i ain't paying £15 a
cartridge....

You do the math, and there aren't any generics yet!!!

Uhhh, one of the primary reasons I bought this printer is because of the
availablity of cheap cartridges. I'll have to look for where I found them
now. I thought I bookmarked it, but maybe it's from one of my regular
shops.
