The boss arrived at work today in his van. The front number plate hadDon't bother with that nonsense, go on eBay and buy the plates
gone missing yesterday. We suspect it was held on with double sided tape
and fell off in the snow. As I was due to go to Redhill it seemed a
reasonable idea for me to take it to Halfords (should have taken that as a
warning!) and get a new one made and fitted. Simple? No chance. in the
past it always has been. When I have bought plates for cycle carriers or
trailers it has been a simple matter of choosing the letters and letting
them put it together for you.
But now! We can ignore the range of options available: size, shape,
colour, font, border, flag ... I just wanted a plain white one with black,
solid letters on it. Then it got really silly.
"Do you have the log book?"
"Yes, here it is"
"Do you have ID? driving licence, passport, and utility bills?"
from an eBay dealer stating they are for show use.
Cheaper than Halfords and delivered in a couple of days.
I had mine nicked a few months ago and suspected they had been
taken to be used for Bilking?
Also the old ones didn't have the new EU blue GB logo,
so on the new ones i had them added, and when i notified the police of
the loss i also told them the difference of the replacements
so they could put a note on their computer.
i.e. GB logo = Me
No GB logo = Not me
