Fortunately for the Chid and Lec hunt the new law on certain restrictions on hunting with hounds has, as expected, proved unworkable and impotent. I'm surprised that such a useless piece of legislation was actually passed through the lords .
Maybe that is why they passed it. :)
That has been suspected. Nevertheless it is a primary duty of the other house, particularly the law lords, to use its considerable expertise to pass down workable legislation regardless of personal opinions. They must've realised that a law which allows a group of sixteen huntsmen to go hunting with a pack of thirty-two hounds provided one of the hunters is a designated flush master was absurd.
Not that I'm complaining, mind. I'm delighted that it's business as usual for the hunts.
