that job, worked em round the clock for three days, every time they

From memory I paid each of those guys about 1500 quid cash, plus all

far as it did in england at the time. In todays money it would be ten
to twelve grand. I made a handsome profit myself, thank you for asking.

Those guys cleared more in a day than you'll see in a month, but they
could WELD....

stroke stroke AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC and that's
another 6mm rod done in one go and a weld so pretty you'd think it was
laid by a top chef in finest chocolate, drop the tag of the electrode
and grip the new one the boy was holding ready and stroke stroke
aaaarrrcccccc and off again, rod after rod after rod.

Course 6mm rods are OK for that kind of work, they don't quite cut it
for hull welding in the shipyard, but lets take them for an example.
That uses something called "massive electrode welding" and it is
awesome, you can deposit a pound of electrode per minute...

Now to do that in MiG you're going to need to feed 6mm diameter mig
wire, and the incredible hulk couldn't handle a 6mm wire feed torch,
even if he could weld, and the spool would be about 6 foot in diameter
and weigh several tons, as for gas, they'd have to have the pyramid
packs of 15 full size bottles each on quick change adapters.

Unless you think you're going to sit there all day with 0.8mm wire, no
penetration, laughing my fucking ass off at you.

28.26 x 750 (useable length of electode) 21,195 cubic millimetres of
electrode deposited.

now, you 0.8 mm mig wire, how much (length) do we need to deposit
21,195 cubic mm?

radius is 0.4

pi x r squared gives us 0.5024 mm2

21,195 / 0.5024 = a shade over 42 metres of mig wire

"ken" for someone so truly fucking clueless and ignorant about even the
basics of welding, I have to ask, are you the tea boy? because sure as
*** you know less about welding than my mum.



Thing is if you are so clued up about just about every subject under the
sun, then WTF have you ended up selling shoddy batteries from a garden shed,
saddled yourself with a £40k legal bill you dont have a hope in hell of ever
paying.............. even though you have suggested that in common with
everything else, you are also an expert on the law?
