It's the optimist in me Peter.
Unless you explain your get rich quick scheme, I'll stick with if.
I know a good 'Get rich' scheme.
You put your name at the top, tell people to pay a fiver into your
PayPal account, and post it to 20,000 newsgroups every day.
Put a front page ad in the New York Times, saying exactly the
following:
"Send your money now. Just $10 ensures this parrot will have a happy
and safe retirement". Add a small B&W pic if you want, shove your
PayPal details on the bottom, and sit back and watch it roll in.
That's it. You're telling no lies. The parrot will most likely have
a happy and safe retirement for as long as you keep it (it will
probably outlive you!), and above all, it's legal..
On week 2, put the same ad in the Chicago Herald. There's at least
one huge circulation city newspaper in every US State except Iowa,
where the literacy rate is below 50%. Pay $5 for the ad via the net,
all open and above board, and you're on your way.
Isn't there a pyramid law?
Who cares? Get yourself a 5p dial up, use it once and walk away from
it.
I thought they were punishable by hanging, well maybe a prison sentence.
Plus noone falls for those. There's one born every minute, and as somebody once said to me about
another group "There's no accounting for the actions of a bunch of
stupid people"
The New York Times advert prank was pulled by students im '99. They
grossed about $3,000 from an ad which said "Send $10 now" and an
address, but the trick is to get the ad printed either at the right hand
end of the masthead (The papers name) or just above half way up the
front page on the right.
Doc, yer a bloody spammer!
