Hi brimstone,
My car is capable of 150 + but i dont drive at that speed, why?
because iam a law abiding citizen, and the car belongs to me, I also
have
to buy my own fuel, (you dont get many MPG at that speed) I also value
my life, and other road users lives as well.
Iam also not above the law, as this officer obviously thinks he is.
People are quick to knock the police but never give them credit that
everyday many encounter dangerous situations and potentially put
themselves at great risk.
The police do a great job most of the time, and yes put themselves at
great
risk sometimes, but thats the nature of the job they choose to do, and yes
it comes with risks to themselves, but they are there to serve and protect
the public, so driving at 159mph is a huge risk to the public, the very
people they are there to protect, so its a bit like biting the hand that
feeds you, dont you think.
I get the impression he feels he was doing what he needed to do to be
able
to do his job more effectively, and was within his operating within his
guidelines.
No, he was pratting about in a high performance vehichle, under the ruse
of,
"i was just putting it through its paces" so i can do my job better.
That's your word against his. I am sure there is *some* element of
truth in it though!
Yea i think so.
So next time i have a new car, i suppose it will be ok for me to drive it
to
the max, just so i can get the feel of it, thus this will make me a better
driver, (I think not)
Your argument is flawed.
Nope.
Is the car's performance critical to your job and does your job
require you to drive at those speeds?
As i have already stated, Iam not expected to drive at that sort of speed,
but neither are the police.
Yes they are.
