Lent, are you kidding. All that bleedin' giving up. No way mate. That's no
way to get the customers in.

Last year I gave up booze, meat (and no cheating by eating sea food) and I
didn't eat *anything* between dawn and dusk throughout the period of Lent.

Did it do me any good? No. Did I feel better for it? No.

However, I do now understand why my Muslim chums are so bleedin' grumpy
while they are fasting.

I could have murdered for a cheeseburger most afternoons by about 4
o'clock...
