Excluding nightclubs, what is the most expensive pint/pub/venue inI don't know if it has changed by now but one night four years ago I
Lincoln? I have found Carling at £2.55 and this is pre budget.
wandered into the King William IVth
on the Brayford, it was 9.30 pm when most pubs were pretty busy but this
place was all but deserted.
I asked for a pint of Taylors Landlord and was shocked when the barman said
"Three pounds twenty please".
I enquired why it was so expensive and was told that the guy who owned it
did'nt like "all the riff-raff coming in" and prices were pitched to
"discourage the lower classes".
Needless to say I told him to put it back in the barrell and walked out ,
never to return.
