You keep banging on about our immigrant problem as if you don't have one
in
the US. Everyday I get email jokes from America about Mexican illegals.
You
WASPS will be in the minority in a couple of decades.

As for our manufacturing there can be few classic industries that are
thriving in the States without subsidies? Certainly not autos. And I've
just
bought a new Dell pc and add ons. Every part of it was made in China! And
what manufacturing you do have, a large proportion of it is foreign
owned,
top of the list being the UK I believe.

And coming from a conservative Republican, half of whom believe in
creationism over evolution, dwelling on our supposed "religion problems"
is
a bit rich!

Come on get real, where do you live disnyland. There are thousands of
industries thriving here ,you should know just like Dell do you think it
is
a Chinese company just because the product wass made there no the original
was built designed and built, Dell are just using a cheaper labor source..
as far as the few top of the line British companies here please name but a
few, I cant think of any.

BP, Hanson, AstroZeneca, come to mind. Budweiser is owned by Belgium, and
there are hundreds more examples.

From the US Department of State's Press Office site:
"In 2004. total accumulated foreign direct investment (FDI) in the United
States was $15 trillion on a historical cost basis, or some $21 trillion at
today's market value. This represents approximately 10% of the total current
market value of all publicly traded firms.

.. About a third of FDI in the U S is held in the manufacturing sector
.. European firms account for 70% of direct investment in the US. The UK is
the largest single foreign investor in the U.S., with some $252 billion
invested (16% of the total stock of foreign direct investment in the U.S.) "

I am quite aware that Dell is a US owned company. That was not my point. To
labour the point it was that US companies are exporting their manufacturing
capabilities to China. Is that clear?

Well thank you for getting it wrong once again, I
certainly am not a conservative republican thank you, and as far as
beliefs
go thats thats my choice after all this place still is a free country.

Well, you don't appear to be a Democrat, you support Palin, so I can only
presume you support her views.

Free country? That's debatable. The Chinese own your debt, your government
own your banks, your tax inspectors own your soul. I've been to the States
many times, it is full of petty laws and restrictions, both Federal, State
and County, that would seem unbelievable to the Founding Fathers.

If
there are no religeous problems there why did the undergroud bombings take
place or was that just a lark. why do you have a full time scotland yard
squad investigating hundreds of suspect muslims.groups.?

And the FBI are not doing the same?

As far as immigrants here we do not have a problem only with the illegal
immigrants and that is beginning to dry up .that being said for the most
part they are here for purely monetry reasons and most will return to
points south.

So why is there a debate going on about granting the illegals an amnesty? If
you think they are going to return home one day voluntarily, you are in
cuckoo land.

The ones here are hard working law abiding people and most are
sypathetic to their plight. It is hard to believe that someone like
Canturbury thinks that sharia law should be incorporated into UK common
law
[probably England biggest contribution to western civilization] Hell why
not, cloak your woman and if they get out of line stone them to death
,that'al teach them.....

To be precise, what the Archbish said was that if two Muslims agreed to
arbitration under Sharia law in a "civil" case then there should be no
restriction. Arbitration is common in civil cases under the auspices of
anyone the parties agree. Again what you say is a bit rich. There can't be
much difference between being stoned to death and a lethal injection, being
gassed or electrocuted. They are all uncivilised and I'm one who believes in
capital punishment.

You are not really a true yank at all are you? Some of your expressions
don't read yank. More of a Brit import? And like all converts, there's none
more subjective in defence of their new-found conversion.

This is a bit of a laugh really. I'm one of the very few supporters of the
US on this ng. But you are starting to make me think just what it is I like
about it. Fortunately, I know quite a few yanks.
