Well, I agree withyou but.....
When you advertise to fill a job vacancy for a doctor, or a dentist, or a radiographer, or a pharmacist, or a pathologist and you don't get a single applicant (not one) from anyone who's UK resident, then what?
Does that happen? Was it not last year that we had 15,000 graduate doctors who could not get a job and were going to have to emigrate? And when the average GP gets £150K a year for doing less work than he did 10 years ago any shortage will soon disappear.It seems the reason we need more doctors is because the recent immigrant population is producing babies at 3 times the rate of the indigenous population. It is self-fulfilling, more immigrants, more doctors are required.
