Recycling is not easy

Recycling is not easy when you have spent a lifetime just chucking things in
the bin.
We now have two bins. The recycling one for paper, news paper, cardboard,
tins, plastic bottles and plastic food containers. But not tissues,
serviettes, paper towel, plastic coated or waxed paper . there is a long
list of things you cant put in the recycling bin. The other bin is for
everything else except glass, electrical items, garden waste, car tyres!
,oil, flammable liquids etc.
So now you have to dissect your rubbish as you go, having different
bags/bins in the house for different products. Preparing a meal has you
undoing a packet and having to decide which bin you put the wrappers in. you
may have a tin (that has to be washed out). The tin may have been packed in
a cardboard, a paper or plastic wrapper and you may have a fruit drink from
a waxed paper container. You then empty a glass jar spill something and wipe
it up with a paper towel and while your food is cooking you have to sift
through all the packaging on the worktop to make sure you don't incur the
wrath of the rubbish police.
Its been 5 days and my poor upbringing has made it difficult to want to
bother.
I am sure it gets easier with practice but perhaps retailers need to help by
making all packaging easy to recycle so we can go back to using one bin
again.
OK I'm lazy. So I will have to stop buying beer in glass bottles as they
have to be carried to somewhere else.))
