anyone read the sun on saturday 15/07/06

Lt Tulbahadur Pun 89 years old Ex Gurkha from WW11 now living in
poverty in
Nepal has been refused by the army museum to borrow HIS VC TO WEAR ONE
LAST
TIME before he dies (bear in mind his age) i think that the
Government/MOD
should step in and make this possible for him, it would appear that our
government look after criminals,rapists,work dodgers and other low life
better than they look after people like Tulbahadur who have risked
their
life for england

I hear prisoners get 30 minute phone cards to make calls home from
British prisons - while servicemen in Iraq get 20 minute phone cards.

This is one of those "hey, did you hear about..." type pub chats so I
can't confirm it and it may be myth..... but somehow it wouldn't
surprise me.

ring the sun newspaper who printed the aticle on saturday 15 07 06 or If
you would like to comment please Email Major GL Davies
curatorthegurkhamuseum.co.uk
the museum is situated in winchester
then you will find that it is a bit more serious than a pub chat, at the
top of my post i allready gave you the date and origin of the article i
am suprised you did not check it before posting your "pub chat"

Hey calm down, this isn't a contentious issue. If you had read his answer
carefully you would have realised he was talking about 30 minute phone
cards for prisoners and 20 minute phone cards for British serviceman in
Iraq. Or at least that's how I read it.

Well, when I mentioned;

"I hear prisoners get 30 minute phone cards to make calls home from
British prisions - while servicemen in Iraq get 20 minute phone cards"

what I actually meant was;

"I hear prisoners get 30 minute phone cards to make calls home from
British prisions - while servicemen in Iraq get 20 minute phone cards"

Now you may think that those two sentences are the same, but beware
ye.... for when the Original poster read;

"I hear prisoners get 30 minute phone cards to make calls home from
British prisions - while servicemen in Iraq get 20 minute phone cards"

what he actually saw after pointing a hair dryer at the post,
re-arranging the letters and revealing the hidden message was;

"bloody spongers .... always moaning the bloody servicemen are - tell
him to get his own bloody badge the ponce! I don't believe that story
for a minute!!!!!!"

So... the game is up. Now you'll all be re-arranging my past posts to
find the hidden messages... there'll be kids strangling their dogs
saying "geee, mr... I couldn't help it. Hatter told me to do it in
his secret, hidden posts".

my appologies i obviously mis read the second sentence and wrongly assumed
it to mean that the gurkha story was not kosher
