200 years ago, all of the Bible was accepted as literal fact. Science has
now made many of those beliefs unsustainable but Christians have an unending
ability to shift the goalposts.

The simple fact is that the Earth was not created by "God" (if it was, then
who or what created God?) and when we die, we will not go to heaven or hell,
regardless of the way in which we conducted our lives.
