With respect, when you've proven that usenet is a more reliable medium for
directly contacting another person, than phoning (caller ID is quite common
these days, as are answerphones) / texting (complete with delivery reports
if you so wish) / emailing them (and with the opportunity to request a
receipt with certain email programs), you may have a valid point.
