in the area...

Not much, I suspect. Farnborough has always been cheap by comparison with
much of the surrounding area except Aldershot, and there's a huge
expansion
in companies locating themselves in Farnborough and surrounding areas.

True, but considering the local companies, the prices always seemed high to
me, especially when I moved back down south from the East Midlands. I'm
sure the close proximity to the M3 (London commuting) keeps the house prices
buoyant.

However I suspect many of the people working at Nokia and the like don't
actually live or shop in Farnborough. Asda was about the only place I used
for shopping in Farnborough when I worked there and that because it was
very close to my office.

Absolutely, nip out the back door, through the fence and into Asda or the
market! Hey, I'm not proud!
