Ken and I had an exchange about six or seven weeks ago. I wrote:
a) Someone apart from him may have used his CC. Identity theft does happen.
b) He may have had a HD crash and changed the HD before the raid.
c) He may have downloaded the images onto a different machine than the one the police found.
d) The downloads may have failed, so he never got the images.
e) He may have realised what a risk he was taking and deleted the images of his own accord.
f) He may have been warned by someone who knew him that isn't a mason.
g) He may have been warned by someone who is a mason.
And those are just the possibilities that occur to me off the top of my head. Not having followed the case, I have no idea if any of them had been considered and discounted. Whatever the situation, jumping to the conclusion that the last option, or one of the last two, must be the case seems illogical.
Ken replied:
"I take your points, but bearing in mind most senior police officers and
many judges are also freemasons, I feel that if he had been warned that
a visit from the police was likely, that while the identity of the
person that gave the warning may never be known, that its pretty likely
that he was a mason..."
Which implies his acceptance that an alternative scenario is a possibility, Although he prefers 'g' to 'f' if it comes down to a choice between those two.
However, he seems to keep going back to his sweeping statements and claiming unproven statements to be 'facts', when they're merely unsupported accusations. He'd make a lousy journalist.
