Stuart, Glasgow has more pools than you might imagine (as a parent of
kids who were in local swimming club, and went to competitions across
Glasgow, I can assure you there are hundereds if not thousands of
kids training hard every morning in the pools accross Glasgow). Even
those that are "leisure" pools do have 50m proper pools.
We won medals at the commonweath games in swimming, against the
Australians, it wasn't just luck.

I can only see 5 pools listed in the 'phone book under Glasgow City
Council Leisure Services/swimming pools and Tollcross doesn't get a
mention for some reason ..maybe some other organisation runs it .Can
you name the rest .
As for your comment about the Commonwealth Games .I am well aware of
our successes there and I wasn't even considering what you describe as
the " wee ned" minority .Never even entered my head .lol
