Starvation in the third world and disasters and other peesh..

Ok I require to be educated again.

We have disasters, famine, etc etc etc... and all we see on TV or read in
papers and magazines is that "we" should dip into our pockets and help other
people out.

Now... and this is where it gets tricky....

We have the Vatican and the people in it who are supposed to be following
the teachings of someone who made it quite clear that when other people need
our help, we should give it. If other people need a place to stay, we should
provide it, when other people need food, we serve it and so on and so
forth...

How come, the Vatican has so much wealth at its disposal, yet, it does not
use all it can to help and cure what it's teacher said it should?

This is not a subtle troll exercise, but it was something that I pondered
over and thought.... there is no justification for so much wealth over there
not being used to help the needy.

Can someone explain why (apart from the obvious in my mind) why this is
allowed to happen, and why the followers of the big book allow such a thing
to happen, and indeed, continue without anything being said or done about
out?
