Hmm, is that true? I thought it was just a change in the understanding
of dental health - now it's thought it's always better to keep teeth
as long as possible instead of extracting - rather than it being a
government policy decision. They used to whip out your gnashers at the
blink of an eye to 'prevent' them decaying in the future. I remember
hearing about a woman in the 50s who had all her teeth out for her
21st birthday present. Lovely. But now they believe it's better to
keep your own teeth. I oftenwish I had wallies (cue predictable
'Wally's what?').

Coo, I used to have loads of panic attacks and also had lots of
mercury fillings as a kid. I think it's probably coincidence in my
case though. It's a wonder they still use metal amalgam fillings when
so much is known about them leaking, particularly when they're being
replaced.
Still, that's what we get for living on irn bru and caramel wafers :D
