What landmark would you associate with the North East?

Looking to take a few pics for a project I am doing at the mo.

Angel of the North is new so doesn't really count yet, The Tyne Bridges
(although not exactly ancient themselves) are probably the best image of the
North East.

As other have said, Durham cathedral is another, Penshaw monument, Bamburgh
castle, perhaps the piers at shields.
