I noticed that Steve's local groups mentioned this webcam
http://www.northtyneside.gov.uk/cams/tyne.htm which covers the pier
(although it usually misses boats going out southbound)
There are also
http://www.interv8.co.uk/webcam/index.htm?cam=east and
http://www.interv8.co.uk/webcam/index.htm?cam=west if you want to check on
the ferries
and finally
http://www.interv8.co.uk/webcam/index.htm?cam=west for those that need to
check the surf/tide
The 4th link (surf/tide) id the same as the third one (ferries, west)
The clock on the two ferries cams looks to be about 24 minutes fast ;-)
At 1838 a ferry went past the east facing cam. Damn that was good timing ;-)
Oops try this for No.4

They've also widened the view on the cooncil one and change the angle on the
East facing one whenever they fancy it.
