From an english-language point-of-view, it's fine.
I think of a gulley as an open water-channel, as opposed to a pipe.
Pretty sure that technically in this context a "gully" is the water
trap in the ground that the end of the waste pipe would empty into.
The "drain" being the pipe that connects the gully to the sewer or
septic tank.
So we end up with "The receding bath water disappeared through the
waste pipe, into the gully and down the drain?".
