Yes, happy birthday Jp!
I can't claim I just got in under the wire now that it's the day after.
So sorry I am late. I've been really focused on a bit of computing this
week. Not checking in here or even reading my emails regularly.
I hope you had a good one. I'll try to have a drink in your honour when
I get to Vegas later tonight!
Johnny
Will you be announcing this on Burgle-me.ca?
Make sure you do something worthy of the Vegas slogan, "What happens in
Vegas, stays in Vegas."
Jp
When we were waiting in TO for our connection to Vegas, my son called to
say the furnace at home was making a great grinding noise. Thinking the
furnace would quit, the house would freeze, the pipes would burst and the
house would be ruined, we nevertheless set off for our weekend in Vegas.
But nothing came of the noise and the house was warm and un-burgled when
we returned last evening. All that to say, we had our son looking out for
the place while we were gone.
I can now say I've been to Vegas. The Circ du Soleil "Love" show of
Beatles music was worth the trip all by itself. Had a great meal at a
Japanese restaurant Saturday night (many people said it was getting
difficult to find a good meal in Vegas and I can understand why) just
prior to the 9:30 show. Sunday we went to the Hoover Dam and drove around
Lake Mead. But we couldn't get to the Grand Canyon as hoped. The long
weekend in the US meant everything was booked. And the weather was cold
and cloudy in the mornings (blue skies and sunshine in the afternoons).
My daughter went out Sunday night and photographed the Bellagio water
shows (3 of them) while we watched the Treasure Island pirate show. They
don't douse the spectators with water at the end of the show when it's
only 46F as they do in the summer months. It's amazing that the men in
the show still go into the water at those temperatures. Spent Sunday
evening in BB Kings listening to live blues.
The only thing we left in Vegas was a fair amount of money. But then
that's what Vegas is there for. I played a 1 cent slot machine for an
hour until my dollar ran out. Mrs. Johnny invested considerably more on
several occasions.
Vegas is not my kind of place, I'm afraid. But we'll go back to the area
as there's a lot of great places to visit nearby.
Johnny
