Actually, on the radio (Desert island Discs I think), I once heard
James Galway tell a story about himself. He apparently gave the first
public performance (presumably played impeccably) of a brand new
ultra-modern piece of solo flute music (Schoenberg-ish apparently).
When he finished the piece, he says he stood up, bowed to the
audience, shook his head sadly and said, "Make of that what you will."
5-holed things are usually pentatonic. Just depends what the bottom note is. Quite likely I could accompany you on a rather boring, normal, 6-stringed guitar. Are you telling us you're so good you prefer to be a soloist? I look forward to hearing you!My Navajo cedarwood flute only has 5 holes and is in the key of G flat
I just hope you can fit them in with the more normal instruments that the
rest of us play, so that we can actually jam together.
sharp diminished-seventh-recurring or something weird like that. As
for my things with strings, you would never keep up!! 8^)
