Actually, on the radio (Desert island Discs I think), I once heard
James Galway tell a story about himself. He apparently gave the first
public performance (presumably played impeccably) of a brand new
ultra-modern piece of solo flute music (Schoenberg-ish apparently).
When he finished the piece, he says he stood up, bowed to the
audience, shook his head sadly and said, "Make of that what you will."

heheh. Lovely.

I just hope you can fit them in with the more normal instruments that the
rest of us play, so that we can actually jam together.
My Navajo cedarwood flute only has 5 holes and is in the key of G flat
sharp diminished-seventh-recurring or something weird like that. As
for my things with strings, you would never keep up!! 8^)

5-holed things are usually pentatonic. Just depends what the bottom note is. Quite likely I could accompany you on a rather boring, normal, 6-stringed guitar. Are you telling us you're so good you prefer to be a soloist? I look forward to hearing you!
