Low-e argon-filled double glazed middle-quality (because our home is only middle quality according to my wife - she won't support my suggestion to get really expensive super-low-e etc windows) pvc framed windows. The front two face nort and most of the foul weather so we ordered casements as they seal the best and have the best ratings for insulation value. Our room on the south side gets the sun and will be a double hung. They are made by this company.
