I'll make you look like a 16-year-old sun goddess if you like!

If it doesn't, I'll be flogged. Unless -- you make it SO tasteful that I'd

For some reason I keep reading that to mean your tan might burn off.
Don't think that can happen, though...
Ha, indeed! Fingers crossed for a dry Saturday - I've been roped in
to
do some flyering in Edinburgh for my son's concert. I do NOT want to
be wandering around in the rain with a bag of soggy leaflets. Hey -
Edith - you reading this? A wee sundance for Saturday in south east
Scotland would be useful . . . please?
ally
It would indeed, it would indeed. I'm all tuckered out, tho' but I'll
try for a couple of hours and hope for the best.
Just do your best - that's all I ask!
A farmer's tan means it stops at the short-sleeves and neckline.
Ah! That's the sort I get, too. I've never been a sunbather.
Redknecks, the pair of you.
Ha! You'll never catch my neck going red - what's hair for, if not for
protecting you from the sun?
Here goes then but I'm not promising anything now that Johnny hasSupposed to be pelting down on Saturday we heard. We're leaving thisIt's still nice here, too. More clouds, but still hot and still quite a

bit of sunshine. Knowing my luck, the rain will hit on Saturday
afternoon, at just the point when I want it least. There's this big
outdoor event every summer in Edinburgh, held in the Meadows and
therefore known as the Meadows Festival. Loads of curious stalls,
funfair, live bands, events of various sorts - it was just down the
road from where we lived so we went every year. The weather was usually
quite good, apart from the years when I had my own stall, when it
either rained or was incredibly windy. I've not been for ages, as I
never seem to be in town on the right weekend, but - hurrah! - I'll be
there at the right time this year. I'll have my bike with me, and a
pile of flyers to distribute. I need it to be dry! (Where's that Sun
Goddess when you need her???)
ally
revealed my Sun-dance to everyone. If he's broken the spell, he's in for
it.
Huh? It's been common knowledge all along, hasn't it? What did he reveal
that wasn't known already?
I think I'll make a badge - or even a t-shirt - with a tastefully drawn
cartoon of our very own Sun Goddess doing a little twirl, and a slogan
saying something like EDITH MAKES THE SUN SHINE. I'll wear it every time
I need good weather. D'you think it would work?
ally
be forgiven if it poured down, hm?
