My new laptop has Vista installed. At first I felt like removing it and
installing XP, but hey, you've got to move with the times, so I've left it
alone. Seems usable, once you find where they've hidden things.
But I'm trying to install my newsgroups on it, and so far have failed. So I
was wondering if anyone out there is using News Individual Net on Vista? I
can log in to the server, but can't download any newsgroups.
You have to get the groups list first (or is that what you're saying
you can't do?).
For the firewall...
Start - settings - control panel - windows firewall
You might also have "parental controls" turned on.
Start - settings - control panel - internet options - content -
content advisor settings
Now all I have to figure out is why it won't detect my printer, despite my having spent half an hour downloading the Vista drivers for the thing. <sigh>
