I'm on:
1g of flucloxacillin 4 times a day on an empty stomach.
1g of phenoxymethylpenicillin 4 times a day with or without food.
400mg metronidazole 3 times a day *with* food and *no* alchol.
Presumeably loperamide and dioralyte , too.
I don't know of a good test for dehydration - which is a sod,
cos I could do with one. But with severe dehydration, you get
low blood pressure, a rapid pulse and breathe heavily.
There is a simple test - but it doesn't give clear results.
Take a pinch of skin on the back of your hand, and (if
your hand is relaxed) you should be able to pull it about
1cm. Hold it for 20s or so and let go. If you're well hydrated,
your skin will spring back into place. If your'e badly dehydrated,
it'll settle more slowly.
Does that description make sense?
Kept an eye on things.
Edith.
