Yep, always enjoyed a few short forays to Florida as fly/drives, no accomodation booked. Then I got made redundant and took 3 months off, back packing around the Far East. 5 weeks in China (Hong Kong to Beijing via Dali, Lijaing, Xian), then another 5 or so through Thailand, Malaysia & Bali then quickly back via Sydney, Hawaii, San Franciso.

Had planned to do the Silk Road starting in Pakistan and up to places like Tashkent, Kashgar etc. but it all started getting a bit iffy around there. Not that it was the most safe of places when I was planning it...


Sounds like a fabulous way to spend your redundancy!
