Shore lines are free areals even though they go through private land,
here. Some people have closed off access by putting fences from their
property down to the waters edge and had to remove them. They build
jetties to moor their boats but can't stop people from using them because
they don't own the water - thank the gawds.

E The shore between the high and low tide levels in this country is owned
by the Crown so you can freely walk on it. Most of the sea shore is
accesible with a few exceptions. The fens, where I come from, have miles
of foreshore but it can be dangerous if you don't know the area and the
tide times, much like Morecambe bay. As a lad I spent whole weekends
camping and birdwatching in the fens. The waders, ducks and geese are a
wonderful sight when they congregate in their thousands. I've even seen
Bittern on the Lincolnshire coast.
