I wouldn't do that to you cherub, nuss nuss, hug hug, nudge nudge.
See! It`s started already! I'm being nussed!

We're all doomed, Doomed! I tell ye..

Lol. It's a Nowegian word that means a little kiss on the cheak -
NOT that YOU're getting one, mind you. Altho, I do have a weekness
for men in uniform.

That's a nice word. Nuss. Must remember that one. It reminds me of
the old English word, which nobody either uses or remembers these
days - "buss", which just means, "kiss". So a nuss is like a cross
between a nudge and a kiss.

ally
So what`s a buss? a cross between a kiss and a bunk up?

Well, in Norwegian buss means boggle like a boggle up yer nose, cross
between a spell in your finger and a baseball bat .. yer ....

In English, it comes from the French word, "baiser" which means, "to
kiss". Quite simple. So it's one of the English words that *don't* come
from the Vikings.

ally
Sorry if I lower the tone but buss means the same in Norwegian, so it was
definitely brought over by some bussy Viking individual most probably
related to Ron o' Boggles.

Thought you said it meant a bogie? Make up your mind! Surely it can't mean
both. I mean, come on, can you imagine the Great Romantic Lover, cuddling
up to the object of his affections and whispering in her ear, "Ah, my
sweet - give me a bogie..."?

ally
I'm not answering this incase I lower the tone.

Edith.
