Hello Al. I''ll bet you a ham sandwich there's a bloke in Houston
with a shed-full of granite.
there are landscapers all around with stacks of limestone and sandstone but
not much granite. Marble would be attractive but it soon gets dirty.
I was scratching around on the banks of the bayou many years ago before
the
grass grew and found several sea shells at a depth of about 20 feet.
Imagine how long they've been there considering I'm now about 80 miles
from
the sea.
Arbut you're not very far above sea level, are you?
There's a big mountain range in Oz (McKinley ?) with fossil shells
on its peaks.
not sure at what elevation I live at a guess I'd say 70 feet. There's the
Guadalupe Mts in West Texas which are about 9000 feet formed from a reef.
That's the same range that contains Carlsbad Caverns.

Both of which are wonderful places to visit in winter but like Dante's
Inferno in summer!
