No doubt it will be the usual story of criminal neglect and lack of
maintenance. Men/contractors sat in vans all day reading their papers
instead of doing the work they are paid for. Thats what happens when
you fragment an industry to make profits. Thats whats happening in the
gas distribution business too. Fragmentation of the network,cut backs
in maintenence,all for private profits of foreign investment
companies. The same company which caused the hatfield rail crash due
to criminal neglect now does gas distribution work on the national and
local gas networks.

The tracks are owned and maintained by Network Rail, a wholly owned entity
of the British taxpayers and nothing to do with foreign investment
companies. Sorry to ruin your rant.
