It's us foreigners. When we moved into this house, it had been occupied for about 35 years by a couple who'd emigrated from Liverpool. They had put carpet down over hardwood floor at least 20 years before. Sapphire blue had faded to dingy green in the lounge and in the dining room area there was wall to wall grass green shagpile. My daughter and I pulled the whole lot out one day."Tania" <faye_king_@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote in message news:1133588237_57819@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Yes, that's a good one for singing while you mop the floor.
"Mop the floor"??? How d'you do that again?

How very British!
I've forgotten what it's like to live with two men and wall-to-wall carpeting in the bathroom! I've never had fitted carpet in the kitchen, though.

We have ceramic and slate tiles everywhere except the bedrooms. I wish we had put tile there too! Area rugs in the living room and dining room with some small rugs here and there are plenty enough to deal with. It's wonderful with a house full of guys. My teenager's bathroom rugs are
easily
thrown outside for a good airing. Too bad his bedroom carpet can't be.

I have gone off wall to wall all together.
