Fortunately you can re-assess anytime. I am curious about what's going on around me. I keep wondering if I'd want to go on if I was blind or deaf - both possibilities for me (along with a long list of others). We'll just have to wait and see. I mean wait and find out.


A close family member is going blind, and my grandfather lost his sight because of diabetes. My uncle was very deaf, my friend is deaf in one ear and I worked for a short time with deaf children. So I am respectful of the reality of this for you. Either would be a tragedy. There are is no compensation for either. But if you were blind, you could still listen to music and enjoy conversation and good food and drink - and boinks - and listen to hockey on satellite radio. Technology exists to help blind people use computers. Deafness would make no difference to your enjoyment of good books, visiting the Lake District, and watching hockey and good food and drink and more boinks - with the added bonus of not affecting your ability to enjoy uklc,(!) and not depriving your friends of your presence here or at boinks.
