Your writing is fine. Your thoughts are, er, um, thoughtful. I
don't know the definition of 'succinctly' myself. I thought
that was obvious. I think it was Oscar Wilde who famously
ended a letter with something like 'I'm sorry this is such a
long letter but I didn't have time to write you a short one'.
I know exactly what he meant.

You have hit upon one of my motivations for being here and
visiting Cumbria when I get an opportunity (or engineer one).
Pure self-indulgence. Making time for myself.

I have a super-mom wife so if anything, I rely on her too
much. I am a responsible person by nature: can't help that. So
I do what I can to help at home. I do what I can to make my
clients happy. I do what is right for my 84 year-old mother
even if it makes her miserable. And I do what I can to stay
alive. Each one of these areas is a lot of responsibility in
itself and a lot of work. I'm spread too thin. I realised that
about a year ago when, for the first time in my life, I
couldn't make anyone happy. "doing what you can" isn't always
enough. Being a nice guy or being well intentioned isn't
enough. But you just keep going. Because you can't just give
up.

That's not my mantra. That's my daily strategy with about 80%
of what is on my plate for that day. My father taught me there
is always a 'do nothing' option.
> (How did I do?)
Not bad. You didn't have much to work on. I only talk about my
selfless fathering online. I seldom talk about mom or work or
my health here. There no funny material there. Everyone has
kids and wives or remembers being a kid. So I mention them
from time to time.
I make myself out to be over-whelmed for fun. It's easy to
fake when you actually are.
Satisfied?
