Sadly, no. He was sucking his thumb. And sleeping. This was the baby that
all babies should take lessons from. This was the baby that has actually got
the hang of being a baby. He slept peacefully, and when he awoke he was more
or less silent. He watched things and listened to the music with great
interest and intelligence, but made no fuss. Also, he is beautiful. We all
wanted to take him home, but his mother won.
