Objection your honour, the UK is not a country but three and a bit countries.


It's a country as far as your passport is concerned. I once watched a Walmart checkout operator in Houston about ten years ago painstakingly copy out my nationality off my passport as "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland" when she accepted a Traveller's Cheque. (Or maybe it was a Traveler's Check.)
