Can anyone recommend a cheap hotel within a 20 mile radius of Bristol

I think your best bet is as you suggested to Bath then A46 out of Bath ... I live near the other end of the journey and I'd avoid Bath like the ... (uk.rec.driving)

Re: Motorway holdups. ... they allow me to get from the Lakes to Bristol in about 6 ... a journey that pre M/way would have taken the best part of three ... about half as far again as Keswick to Bristol.... (uk.transport)
