Doubtful - having had my motorcycle stolen and losing my
job as result (and nearly my home)
You work for a pretty shitty company, that's all I can say.

Not now he doesn't.

But do your eally expect an employer to keep someone on who
can't get to work?
I'd expect them to show some humanity and give the person a
few days to sort it out for a start.

First time it happened, my ins co provided a hire car.

2nd time it happened, my IT director got me a hire car for 2
weeks while I sorted out a replacement.

When the bike was nicked, I went on the bus for a couple of
weeks.

Not a big deal.
It was for us - we used to use the bike to get from Bedford
to St Albans - I worked in South Mimms in the middle of the
A6. I had to give up my job as we could not afford another
vehicle and there was no public tranport I could use -
insurance took 4 months to pay out and it wasn't enough.
That's how we ended up on the dole.
TBH it is the same as all the other posts. Unless it has
happened to him or his, or if it did not affect him much, then
other people should have the same approach. It is a selfish
attitude.
I think you'll find it's the best attitude to have. The only
things that *really* matter at the end of the day are your
family, your health and not a great deal else. You'll be a lot
more relaxed if you think like that.

Yet you tend to get uptight about defending Muslims etc.
Not at all. That's how you perceive it.
I would suggest that that is how everyone on uk.legal would
perceive it...

Well, a lot of people on uk.legal perceive you as a racist, sexist,
misogynistic old git.

Doesn't make them right though does it?

Misogynistic, is an unfair label. Nowhere has he inferred that he
hates women.

Used loosely, it can just mean that someone is predjudiced against
women, which Kev has inferred that he is with his comments about them
choosing a career over a family, women going out to work being the
cause of marriage breakdowns etc etc.

I stand by those comments - and many social commentators agree with me - because I have concerns over marriage and family breakdown. Nothing to do with being prejudiced against women.
