Yes, it is appalling. Has the hospital attempted to claim that it was
a fully justified mistake and that nobody is at fault? Did they issue
a lot of misleading media statements claiming that the patient brought
it on herself? Was the surgeon sent away on a holiday before an
investigation could be launched? Did the hospital subsequently make
statements that the patient is an illegal immigrant who is suspected
of rape?
