Gosh. So, from what you say, the pharma industry is greedy, unethical
and uses unscientific and unreliable tests to develop its products.
Accordingly, I'm sure you refuse on principle to use any of its
products, but could you just confirm this?

Yes in a nutshell thats a reasonably accurate description of an
industry directly responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths in
third world countries, due to refusal to provide licences to produce
life saving drugs in third world locations, which would mean prices
perhaps 1000% cheaper than those charged in more "civilised" regions!

By the same token, _you_ are responsible for millions of deaths by not inventing a vaccine for malaria or a cure for cancer.

At least the pharma companies have invented cures for many diseases, which you haven't. To hold them responsible for deaths from diseases they have invented a cure for, and to exonerate yourself who has done absolutely nothing in that regard, is somewhat hypocritical.

If a company invents a cure for a disease, it's a useful company. It remains in existence by selling drugs at a price that will recoup their research expenditure. Without that research expenditure, there will be no future drug advances. To suggest that they should bankrupt themselves in some final act of philanthropy is therefore incredibly short-sighted.

It's down to governments to be philanthropic and redistributive, not big Pharma. If they want to prevent deaths in the third world then they should be buying the drugs from the producers and giving them away. It's not the pharmaceutical industry's role to play at government.

And I have on principle been using only natural remedies for many
years, but have found that as I have been a strict vegan for the last
25 years that health problems ar few and far between anyway.

How wonderfully lucky you've been.

You'll learn you're not immune in due course, however. And when you do, you'll have some difficult choices to make.
