You want to allow someone to monitor your incoming emails, but not be
able to read any that are "personal". But how is *any* program going
to be able to determine which emails are personal, and which are not?

It would be possible to write a small proggie that logs onto your
email server and collects just the email headers, so only the sender
and subject line can be seen, if that would be of any help.

Will you not be in a position to collect your emails from a laptop
whilst you are away? You can get relatively cheap Internet access via
a USB dongle that works via the cellphone system if you are going to
be in the UK.

What I had in mind was to be able to tell my close friends to password protect their emails if I didn't want my colleague/secretary to read any personal stuff. So whatever it was, it would have to be installed not only on my computer but on the sender's computer.


You would therefore need something like PGP at both ends to encrypt before sending the message. PGP does have a good plugin to Outlook to facilitate just this sort of thing and is the easiest solution there is for home users really.
