The aquaplaning plod who crashed his police car at over 110 mph in

His barrister argued that he was not an ordinary motorist but a highly
trained specialist driver although how that makes him less liable for
crashing when he was not on a shout is beyond me. IMO it makes him more
liable. His jail sentence for dangerous driving was overturned and replaced
by a conviction for careless driving and a 3 month ban.
Complete fix if you ask me. It makes a mockery of the justice system.
That's bollocks ..So if a Racing Touring Car driver did the same could
he make the same reasoning cos he is probably a better driver than the
Plod ?
The Stirling Moss defence. But AIRI he wasn't speeding in bad weather
when the police prosecuted him for dangerous driving and the bench
accepted a lesser plea because of his skills.
To be fair, "the bench" didn't.
It was the appeal court which (wrongly IMV) overruled the bench.
I was going on memory from about 40 years ago.
IIRC he actually left the road and flew. Yes he should have been done
for DD
